Outdoor Halloween Décor

This year - I kept things really simple for our outdoor decoration. I really like the idea of having a "fall" theme for our outdoor décor - although it's technically Spring in Australia. I find with all the cool nights and cold rainy days still going on, it feels like fall. This also really gives me a great excuse to have my Halloween décor up for most of October.

I know... I can feel you thinking it - palm leaves? Why ? - Great question, I did not realise how hard it was to find dried corn stalks in Australia. The closest farm that had them was like an 8 hour drive. Anyway plan B for my attempted spooky-barn-fall-vibe was dried palm leaves. Thank you Marketplace.
I found everything I needed. I was a little apprehensive about what it'd look like - but after using a million zip ties, I think we got there !
The palm leaves and sugar bale gave the dried fall aesthetic I was looking for.

Most of the outdoor accessories came from TKMaxx - I have fallen in love with TKMaxx.
They have the best pumpkins. They've got so many decorative pieces to fit any aesthetic.
I chose the more realistic pumpkins for our outdoor décor - they looked so real and these babies lasted though everything, rain, hail and hot sun.

In addition to pumpkins. I found these crows from Spotlight. They're quite realistic and versatile, they can either stand or they come with a little hook so you pose them in a tree. They looked so real in-fact that a few magpies were not impressed that the crows had taken over the bird bath.

Our neighbours loved this guy - who we've playfully named - Herb - because why not. Herb originated from Kmart.
He had Herb hold up a little white board and every day we'd change the message or joke. It also came in handy when telling trick or treaters we were all out of candy.
Herb was so popular that we had one of our neighbours come to us and say how much he enjoyed driving to work in the morning and stopping to check our Herb's message for the day.
It's such a small activity that made just Kim and I laugh, but it warmed my heart to know that someone enjoyed it too.
Thanks for reading!
Until next Halloween! 👻
